We began by noticing the rhythms in nature and learning to keep pace. To coordinate our days, we marked off intervals and built tools—calendars and clocks—that brought order and enabled shared schedules. Over time, those tools also narrowed our perception of time by favoring what can be measured and obscuring other ways of thinking about time.

As our world changes and understanding deepens, many people are taking a more deliberate view of time. New intentions often lead to new tools. This project moves from keeping time to living it—grounded in an experiential understanding of time.

“We are in the stream of time, and therefore it would seem absurd for us to deny it, because that is what we are.”
— David Bohm, in The Ending of Time — dialogues with J. Krishnamurti

THE SPIRAL TIMEPIECE

Choose your country to view the calendar

This calendar consists of 12 images, one for each month.

The spiral moves forward in widening arcs, never returning in quite the same way. Within the repetition of days, each distinct decision accumulates—subtle in isolation, but forming real change when seen from a wider perspective. We come upon situations that feel familiar, yet by recognizing what has shifted, we arrive at a different kind of insight than before.
